As a sales manager, you want to give your loyal customers better prices on certain products. For example, you notice some customers buy a lot of boards and want to give them a better price just for boards, not for everything else. This helps you stay competitive and makes your customers feel valued.
However, you don’t want to manually set prices for every item.
Let’s see how we use price and discount group details to automate this!
Go to Customers.
Open the Customer you want to set up special prices or discounts for.
Scroll down to the Invoicing FastTab.
Find the field Customer Price Group. This is the general price group for all Items.
However, to set up special prices for certain items or categories, click on Related > Prices & Discounts > Customer Price Group (Details) in the top menu.
Click + New to add a new line.
In the Item Category Code column, select the Item Category (e.g., “Boards”) you want to set a special price group for.
In the Customer Price Group column, choose the price group you want to apply for this Item Category.
Repeat steps 6 to 8 for other Item Categories, Items or Ship-to Codes as needed.
While this example shows how to set it up for Customer Price Groups, you can do so in the same way for Customer Discount Groups. To do so, go back to the Customer Card and click on Related > Prices & Discounts > Customer Disc. Group (Details) in the top menu.
After setting up price and discount groups, your customers automatically get the right prices and discounts for the products they buy most, without extra manual work. This makes your sales process faster and helps you keep your customers happy.
