The CEO, Jan Maurits Kemps, successfully uses our new OnRoute app to optimize route planning and delivery. In the following interview, Mr. Kemps shares his experiences with OnRoute and explains how the system has improved everyday operations at HOTIM.
acadon: How did the implementation of OnRoute go?
Jan Maurits Kemps: The implementation was very simple. When the module went live (before the implementation), I went through it briefly with a colleague to see how it would work. We quickly realized that it was a practical and easy-to-use module. The implementation was completed within an hour.
acadon: What has changed since using OnRoute?
Jan Maurits Kemps: Mainly, less paper and less storage work. Also, the convenience of having photos and delivery notes saved together. Additionally, we can check throughout the day how the drivers’ routes are progressing. We used to do this by calling them, which was often disruptive since they were busy unloading or taking a short break.
acadon: How much time savings do you experience using OnRoute?
Jan Maurits Kemps: A lot! I estimate it’s 4-6 hours per week, if not more.
acadon: How do the drivers experience using OnRoute?
Jan Maurits Kemps: Our drivers are enthusiastic! The app/module is very user-friendly. The driver checks his portal daily and knows exactly which route he needs to take. They actually do this the night before. They go through the route again for themselves and know exactly when to head out.
acadon: Would you recommend OnRoute to other wood companies?
Jan Maurits Kemps: Definitely! There are only advantages. I can’t think of any downsides.
