As a salesperson, you are responsible for answering questions and providing additional information about specific items in your quotes. While most information is shown on your webshop, it’s not always easy for your customers to find.
Imagine you have provided a quote for a carpenter. Since he works on customer projects during the day, he only finds time to check the quote in the evening. He has a few questions regarding an item in the quote, but he has to wait until tomorrow, during your opening hours, to ask them. This not only costs extra time for your customer, but you, as a salesperson, could also spend your time more productively, knowing that the answers are actually available on your webshop.
Let’s see how you can make it easier for your customers to find additional item information!
First, check the two conditions that apply for using this functionality:
If you can comply to both of these, it’s time to set up the Webshop Item Link. Go to the Timber Report Setup.
Fill out an Webshop Item No. Placeholder, e.g. 00000.
Fill out your URL template in the Webshop Item No. Tmpl. Link field, e.g. https://webshop.com/00000.
Once this is set up, let’s have a look at a Sales Quote to see where this link turns up. Go to Sales Quotes.
Open a Sales Quote by clicking on the blue underlined No.
In the top menu, click on Print/Send and Print….
In the window that opens, click on Preview.
In the preview of the Sales Quote that opens up, you find that a link is added to the Item Number(s).
If you or your customer click on this link, the webpage for this specific item will open. On this webpage, you can add all the extra information you want, such as an instruction manual or specific attributes of the item. Now, your customers can easily find this extra information directly from a document you’ve sent. Saving time for both you and your customer!
