As a dispatch or logistics employee, you want to plan an internal transport directly from a sales order without triggering any warehouse movement or item posting in the system.
This is especially helpful in scenarios where goods needed for a sales order are only moved or planned for organizational purposes, for example:
A transport order is used purely for dispatching and planning, not for warehouse management.
While we already learned how to create a transport order which is not related to a sales item, let’s take a look at how you can create a transport order from a sales order!
To use Transport Orders, the Container/Travel Module has to be activated. To do so, open acadon Module Management.
Activate the Container/Travel Module under Timber – Import by selecting it and clicking Enable in the top menu.
Open the desired Sales Order.
A notification pops-up, click Yes to confirm you want to create a Transport Order.
The system automatically creates a Transport Order including the data from the Sales Order and shows a notification for that. Click on Show transport order to open the Transport Order.
Now, you can edit and process this Transport Order like any other, as described in a previous HowTo.
The Transport Order allows you to plan internal goods movement directly from a Sales Order without triggering any warehouse movements or postings in the system. This keeps inventory unchanged while ensuring that the entire transport process is structured and prepared within disposition planning.
