Being the first line of contact for your customers, you are responsible for answering any of their questions. They might call about the last quote they received, or have questions about one of the invoices on a reminder they received. You always try to help them as quickly as possible, however, finding the right document can be a big hassle.
Imagine a customer calls you about a certain document number ending in 1234. You try to find out what kind of document they are referring to, however, they are not familiar with all the different type of documents you use. You have a look at the Sales Quote list in Business Central but fail to find the number. Continuing to the list of Sales Invoices, it still gives a blank. Finally, you have a look at the Sales Shipments and luckily you find the number there.
Now that you have the document, you can answer the customer’s question. However, they now ask for a related document to this Sales Shipment, and your search starts all over again.
Let’s see how you can make your life easier & help your customers quicker!
As usual, you start from the Customer Dashboard where you find an overview of everything related to the specific customer.
To find the document your customer is looking for, you go to General and click Find Documents or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F.
In the new window that opens, you simply type in the numbers your customer gave you in the Document No. field and press Enter or Search.
A list of all documents with these numbers opens up, which you can easily open by clicking on the blue number.
And there is more! Remember in the example, your customer now asks a question about a related document. We can easily find an overview of all related documents of a line by selecting the line and clicking on Related, acadon_doc.box and Find Documents in the menu.
Now, a full overview of all related documents opens. You can easily see everything that happened in relation to this document and in the columns on the right you directly see if there is a Business Central or doc.box document available.
Now, whenever a customer asks you a question about any document, you can easily find it and any related documents as well. Saving time for you and your customer.
