Dynamic Dispatch
The traditional method of dispatching triggers a corresponding replenishment of inventory for each sold item in the same order of magnitude based on static parameters (such as minimum stock, reorder point, etc.). However, this type of replenishment dispatching is not cost-effective and can be optimized through an automatic, flexible, dynamic replenishment process. For this purpose, we have enhanced the standard of Business Central with an integrated, optionally usable order process called "dynamic dispatching."
With this, the order proposal can work with dynamic minimum stock levels and dynamic batch sizes instead of static minimum stock levels. Currently, the order proposal in Business Central works so that when the minimum stock level is reached, the inventory is replenished to this minimum level (taking into account existing orders and requests).
This process has been enhanced so that in the future, a demand forecast will be carried out first. Based on this forecast, the reorder point is determined. If the inventory level is less than or equal to the reorder point, the optimal replenishment quantity is calculated and set in the order proposal.
Advantages:
Reduced Inventory Costs: Optimized stock levels lower capital tie-up and storage costs.
High Delivery Reliability: Ensures product availability while keeping inventory lean.
Lower Inventory Risk: Minimizes overstocks and write-downs of discontinued items.
Reduced Logistics Costs: More efficient dispatch planning lowers transport and handling expenses.
Dynamic Demand Planning: Automatic forecasts continuously adapt to actual demand.
